DAY 52 - OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE, PRAY FOR US POWER OF PRAYER The heroes of our faith are the warrior saints who have gone before us. God worked mightily and miraculously through them. Therefore, we must study their ways. In humility, obedience, and trust (H.O.T.), we ask: How did they remain so well connected, in such strong friendship with God, so that his river of supernatural grace could flow so freely through them? The story of Angela and Ursula is one of those hidden flames in the Church’s long memory — a quiet revelation of how swiftly God completes His work in souls who have already surrendered everything. St. Peter Claver, who spent his life among the forgotten and the suffering, recognized holiness not by reputation but by radiance. He saw it in two women the world never noticed: one poor, one crippled, both obscure, both faithful. Angela’s charity was simple and severe. She took Ursula into her home, tended her sores, bore her weight, and offered her the dignity of companionship. Claver visited them as a priest who understood that confession and bread are sometimes the only medicine the poor receive. When Angela feared Ursula was dying, he answered not with sentiment but with certainty — four days remained. And when the appointed...
