Isaiah, Chapter 51, verse 7:
7 Hear me, you who know justice, you people who have my teaching at heart: Do not fear the reproach of others; remain firm at their reviling’s.

What is God’s justice and what teaching should we have at heart?

The Old Testament established the seven laws of Noah, or the Noahide Laws which were given by God as binding on all of humanity.  Any person who adheres to these is regarded as righteous and is assured a place in the world to come.

These laws are:
1.      Do Not Deny God
2.      Do Not Blaspheme God
3.      Do Not Murder
4.      Do Not Engage in Incestuous, Adulterous or Homosexual Relationships.
5.      Do Not Steal
6.      Do Not Eat of a Live Animal
7.      Establish Functioning Courts of Law

Evil is real, personal, and resisted through Christ’s authority The Catechism teaches that evil is not merely psychological or symbolic; it is a real, personal force acting through fallen angels (CCC 391–395). Christ’s victory over Satan is definitive, but not yet fully manifested, which means the Christian life is lived in combat (CCC 409). This frames every spiritual exhortation—whether prayer, deliverance, or moral vigilance—as participation in Christ’s own authority. 2. The Christian confronts evil first by obedience of faith The CCC roots spiritual warfare not in dramatic gestures but in obedience (CCC 144–149).   You don’t fast on the Feast of the Sacred Heart because the day is a solemnity, and solemnities override every form of Friday penance. The Church’s instinct is simple and ancient: when Christ reveals His Heart, His people feast, not fast. Even those who keep a strict personal Friday discipline are released from it on this day, not as an indulgence but as an act of obedience to the liturgical mind of the Church. Spiritually, the feast is a day of abundance — mercy poured out, tenderness unveiled, the Heart of Jesus opened. A man who normally keeps Friday lean can let this day be full: a real meal at midday, a small celebratory ritual at dusk, and a renewal of consecration to the Heart that loves without measure.
