Novena for Purification Day 4
Description:
This novena prayer, although short is sufficient. It would be better of course to add, if time permits, three Hail Marys or say five times the Our Father, Haily Mary and Glory be to the Father, or to use some of the many well-loved novena prayers from other sources. Remember that prayers must be said with the lips in order to gain the indulgences. This novena starts on January 24 and ends on February 2.
Prayer:
O Blessed Mother of God, who went up to the Temple according to the law with your offering of little white doves, pray for me that I too may keep the law and be pure in heart like you.
Sweet heart of Mary, be my salvation.
300 days. Plenary, under usual conditions, if said daily for a month. S. C. Indulg., Sept. 30, 1852.

VICTIMS OF THE HOLOCAUST
Hebrews, Chapter 10,
Verse 36-39
36 You need endurance to do the will
of God and receive what he has promised. 37
“For, after just a brief moment, he who is to come shall come; he shall not
delay. 38 But my just one shall live by
faith, and if he draws back I take no pleasure in him.”
39
We are not among those who draw back and perish, but among those who have FAITH
and will possess life.
Daily you must choose to live in truth, love, and protect
life. We need endurance to not give into lies, selfishness and death. When you
are tested daily those who do not draw back but remain faithful will possess
life.
Meditation: To Act Through
Love
Let us take care to act habitually only for the glory of God, to please
Him and be pleasing to Him; so that, according to Christ's own prayer, the name
of our Father in Heaven may be hallowed, His Kingdom come in hearts and His
will be done. A soul thus turned towards God is one taken possession of by love
and that ever more and more, for, at each step, she advances more deeply in
divine love by constantly renewing these acts of love. Love then becomes a
weight that draws the soul, with ever increasing power, to generosity and
fidelity in God's service: Amor meus, pondus meum. Hence comes the promptitude
of the soul to devote herself to the service of God, to seek the interests of
HIs glory; that is true devotion.
What is the meaning of the word devotion? The Latin word devovere means
"to be consecrated," vowed to God's service and to accomplish it with
ease; devotion is not only to have been consecrated to Christ in baptism, but
its is to vow all one's energies and works with ease and promptitude to His service
and the glory of His Father.

International Day of Victims of the Holocaust[1]
Holocaust Memorial Day is a day commemorating the millions of Jews and minority groups who were murdered by the Nazis during the Holocaust in the 1930s and 40s. The Holocaust, a systematic and state-planned program to kill millions of Jews and other minority groups in Europe, was one of the most horrific genocides in history with an estimated 11 million lives lost. The purpose of the day is to encourage discussion of this difficult subject in order to make sure that it never happens again. In 2005, Holocaust Memorial Day was established by the United Nations General Assembly. January 27, the remembrance date, is significant as it was the date that Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest and most infamous Nazi extermination camp in Poland, was liberated in 1945. The Holocaust is marked by many different days around the world. In Israel, the day is known as Yom HaShoah and begins when the sun sets on May 4 and finishes in the evening of May 5.

Jewish people were excluded from public life on
September 15th, 1935, when the Nuremberg Laws were issued, stripping German

·
If we bear all this suffering and if there are
still Jews left, when it is over, then Jews, instead of being doomed, will be
held up as an example. ― Anne Frank, well-known Holocaust victim
· I swore never to be silent whenever and wherever human beings endure suffering and humiliation. We must take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented” ― Elie Wiesel, Nobel Laureate and Holocaust survivor

Day Eight:
Intercession: May those nearing life’s end receive medical care that respects their dignity and protects their lives.
Prayers: Our Father, 3 Hail Mary’s, Glory Be
Reflection: The dying process is a sacred time—a final season to seek closure in this life and prepare for the next. We know earthly death is not the end, but rather the door through which we must pass to gain eternal life. The deadly practice of assisted suicide—now legal in several states—shortens or even eliminates this sacred season, carelessly cutting short the life of the patient. To support the “false compassion” of assisted suicide is to see people as a problem to be eliminated. End-of-life care should instead help eliminate or alleviate the patient’s problems, whether they are physical, spiritual, or emotional. Those who die in God’s grace and friendship live forever with Christ. Because of our belief and hope in the Resurrection, we can face death not with fear, but with trust. We pray that society might recognize that every day of our lives is a gift and is always worth living, especially our final days. We need not fear. Christ is with us.

The Family in God's Plan
The nature
of the family
2201 The conjugal community is established upon the consent of
the spouses. Marriage and the family are ordered to the good of the spouses and
to the procreation and education of children. the love of the spouses and the
begetting of children create among members of the same family personal
relationships and primordial responsibilities.
2202 A man and a woman united in marriage, together with their
children, form a family. This institution is prior to any recognition by public
authority, which has an obligation to recognize it. It should be considered the
normal reference point by which the different forms of family relationship are
to be evaluated.
2203 In creating man and woman, God instituted the human family
and endowed it with its fundamental constitution. Its members are persons equal
in dignity. For the common good of its members and of society, the family
necessarily has manifold responsibilities, rights, and duties.
The
Christian family
2204 "The Christian family constitutes a specific
revelation and realization of ecclesial communion, and for this reason it can
and should be called a domestic church." It is a community of faith,
hope, and charity; it assumes singular importance in the Church, as is evident
in the New Testament.
2205 The Christian family is a communion of persons, a sign and
image of the communion of the Father and the Son in the Holy Spirit. In the
procreation and education of children it reflects the Father's work of
creation. It is called to partake of the prayer and sacrifice of Christ. Daily
prayer and the reading of the Word of God strengthen it in charity. the
Christian family has an evangelizing and missionary task.
2206 The relationships within the family bring an affinity of
feelings, affections, and interests, arising above all from the members'
respect for one another. the family is a privileged community called to achieve
a "sharing of thought and common deliberation by the spouses as well as
their eager cooperation as parents in the children's upbringing."
