Psalm 118, verse 4-6 4 Let those who FEAR the LORD say, his mercy endures forever. 5 In danger I called on the LORD; the LORD answered me and set me free. 6 The LORD is with me; I am not afraid ; what can mortals do against me?   When can we say, “His mercy endures forever!” It is when we have received it and given it away.  Monday Night at the Movies Frank Borzage, Strange Cargo, 1940 FEAST OF ST. AGATHA- Winter Carnival   Psalm 115, Verse 11-13 11 Those who FEAR the LORD trust in the LORD, who is their help and shield. 12 The LORD remembers us and will bless us, will bless the house of Israel, will bless the house of Aaron, 13 Will bless those who fear the LORD, small and great alike.   Psalm 115 is a response to the enemy taunt, “Where is your God?” This hymn to the glory of Israel’s God ridicules the lifeless idols of the nations, expresses in a litany the trust of the various classes of the people in God, invokes God’s blessing on them as they invoke the divine name, and concludes as it began with praise of God. World Day of Prayer for Consecrated Life February 2, 2024 (Celebrated in Parishes February 3-4, 2024) In 1997, Pope Saint John Paul II instituted a day of prayer for women and men in consecrated life. This celebration is attached to the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord on February 2nd. This Feast is also known as Candlemas Day; the day on which candles are blessed symbolizing Christ who is the light of the world. So too, those in consecrated life are called to reflect the light of Jesus Christ to all peoples. The celebration of World Day for Consecrated Life is transferred to the following Sunday in order to highlight the gift of consecrated persons for the whole Church. We hope that you find the following resources helpful for your own celebrations of World Day of Prayer for Consecrated Life!
