Jeremiah, Chapter 2, verse 19:
19 Your own wickedness chastises you, your own
infidelities punish you. Know then, and
see, how evil and bitter is your forsaking the LORD, your God, And your showing
no fear of me, oracle of the Lord, the GOD of hosts.
THE SCOURGING AT THE PILLAR
Desired Spiritual Fruit: Mortification of the senses
1.
They bound Jesus and delivered Him to Pilate. And
Pilate asked Him, "Art thou the king of the Jews?" (Mark 15:1-2)

Jesus answered, "My kingdom is not of this
world. But thou sayest it; I am a king." (John 18:36-37)

"This is why I was born, and why I have come into
the world, to bear witness to the truth." (John 18:37)

Then Pilate said, “I find no guilt in this man. I will
therefore chastise Him and release Him." (Luke 23:4, 16)
5.
Pilate then took Jesus and had Him scourged. (John
19:1)
6.
Oppressed and condemned, He was taken away, a man of
suffering. (Isa. 53:8, 3)
7.
Though He was harshly treated, He submitted, like a
lamb led to the slaughter. (Isa. 53:7)
8.
He was pierced for our offenses, crushed for our sins.
(Isa. 53:5)
9.
It was our infirmities that He bore, our sufferings,
that He endured. (Isa. 53:4)
10. Upon
Him was the chastisement that makes us whole, by His stripes we are healed.
(Isa. 53:5)
