John, Chapter 19, verse 38
38After this, Joseph of Arimathea, secretly a disciple
of Jesus for fear of the Jews, asked Pilate if he could remove the body
of Jesus. And Pilate permitted it. So he came and took his body.
Faith
is the answer to fear. Deep down we are all afraid: of suffering, or of dying,
or of God’s judgment, or of the unknown, or of weakness, or of our live’
slipping out of control, or of not being understood and loved. We sin because
we fear. We bully because we are cowards.[1]
“Faith
casts our fear, as light casts out darkness. God has shone his light into our
world, and it is stronger than darkness. (John 1:50)
