Matthew, Chapter 10, verse 31
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant,
gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking
so that other people won't feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is
within us.
It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously
give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
our presence automatically liberates others.

Ember Friday[1]
History of Ember Days
According to the Catholic Encyclopedia, the celebration of
Ember Days derived from a pagan Roman practice. Before converting to
Christianity, the Romans had performed pagan religious ceremonies on these days
in relation to their agriculture.
These occasions were changed when former pagans converted
and Ember Days became a part of Christian tradition early, as noted in the
Catholic Encyclopedia:
“The Church, when converting heathen nations, has
always tried to sanctify any practices which could be utilized for a good
purpose. At first the Church in Rome had fasts in June, September, and
December; the exact days were not fixed but were announced by the priests. The
"Liber Pontificalis" ascribes to Pope Callistus (217-222)
a law ordering the fast, but probably it is older. Leo the Great (440-461)
considers it an Apostolic institution.”
As mentioned in the above quote, Ember Days were not set
for a particular week in the early centuries. The timing for Catholic Ember
Days was officially arranged and fixed by Pope Gregory VII, who was pope from
1073 to 1085.
Today plan to use moderation as a lifestyle and share your
time, talents are treasure with the less fortunate.
Hiking
Tomorrow, I will be leading a spiritual hike you are invited but if you cannot I ask all my readers to add their prayers for Meek and humble souls as requested by our Lord via Saint Faustina.
Eighth Day
"Today bring to Me the Souls who are in the prison of Purgatory, and immerse them in the abyss of My mercy. Let the torrents of My Blood cool down their scorching flames. All these souls are greatly loved by Me. They are making retribution to My justice. It is in your power to bring them relief. Draw all the indulgences from the treasury of My Church and offer them on their behalf. Oh, if you only knew the torments they suffer, you would continually offer for them the alms of the spirit and pay off their debt to My justice."
Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon the souls suffering in Purgatory, who are enfolded in the Most Compassionate Heart of Jesus. I beg You, by the sorrowful Passion of Jesus Your Son, and by all the bitterness with which His most sacred Soul was flooded: Manifest Your mercy to the souls who are under Your just scrutiny. Look upon them in no other way but only through the Wounds of Jesus, Your dearly beloved Son; for we firmly believe that there is no limit to Your goodness and compassion. Amen.
Most Merciful Jesus, You Yourself have said that You desire mercy; so I bring into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart the souls in Purgatory, souls who are very dear to You, and yet, who must make retribution to Your justice. May the streams of Blood and Water which gushed forth from Your Heart put out the flames of Purgatory, that there, too, the power of Your mercy may be celebrated.
Full Flower Moon
Today according to the
almanac is a Full Flower Moon; bring flowers to all the women in your life.
Christ always brought His mother Lilies of the Valley.
