This blog is based on references in the Bible to fear. God wills that we “BE NOT AFRAID”. Many theologians state that the eighth deadly sin is fear. It is fear and its natural animal reaction to fight or flight that is the root cause of our failings to create a Kingdom of God on earth. By “the power of the Holy Spirit” we can be witnesses and “communicators” of a new and redeemed humanity “even to the ends of the earth” (Acts 1:7 8). This blog is dedicated to Mary the Mother of God.

DAY 42 - MARY, QUEEN OF CONFESSORS, PRAY FOR US
YOU MADE US FOR YOURSELF
The unfortunate reality is that the modern campaign of militant secular indoctrination has been so severe that fewer remain who believe or trust in God's supernatural power. In spiritual terms, this makes us puny and scrawny rather than strong and powerful mighty warriors ready to confront the powers of darkness in the heavenly realm. With so many modernized Christians ignoring the reality of grace, it is no wonder that evil is thriving in our day.
In speaking of the need for a New Evangelization, Pope Benedict XVI said, "the true problem of our times is the 'Crisis of God,' the absence of God, disguised by an empty religiosity" ... a kind of lukewarmness, going through the motions of one's faith, which ends up collapsing completely. The terrible consequence of this war on the supernatural is seen in the epidemic of spiritual sloth in our times - hearts deadened to the Divine Life of God.
Bishop Robert Barron draws attention to this very real epidemic in our times: "A real concrete statistic around this is that 70 percent of the baptized faithful are staying away from Mass on a regular basis. And we're doing well in comparison with the European countries. Vatican II said the Mass is the source and summit of the Christian life ... everything leads to and flows from the Mass. The Eucharist is everything, and 70 percent could care less about it. Yes, there are many reasons around why some do not go to Mass, but I suspect that, for most, they are suffering from spiritual sloth; they could just care less."
Aristotle said, "No one can long remain in sadness without any joy." Depriving oneself of spiritual joy through neglect and sloth leaves one desperate to fill that void with inferior pleasures. Hence, it is no wonder why we see so many people frantically attempting to fill their lives with every kind of activity and distraction possible, desperately trying to avoid the gloom of emptiness. St. Augustine said, "You have made us for yourself, Lord, and our hearts are restless until they rest in you." (Excerpt from Church Militant Field Manual).

Job, Chapter 21, Verse 9
Their homes are safe, without FEAR, and the rod of God is not upon
them.
With the current
political climate of today-China, COVID dictatorial measures, New World Order
takeover, Sanctuary Cities, Gangs etc.; we may not be feeling safe in our
homes. We may feel God’s rod is upon us. Yet, we learn that God does not wish
to destroy us but bring about the best in us. The wages of sin are usually
destruction, but God is mercy. As in the parable of the wheat and tares God
allows the weeds to grow with the wheat. We often ask with Job, “Why do the wicked
keep on living, grow old, become mighty in power? Mercy!
·He tells Job that the wicked get what they
deserve from God.
·For good measure, he adds that the venom of asps
will poison people's stomachs and kill the sinners. Well that's graphic.
Job Refutes Zophar
·Job sticks to his guns.
·The wicked, he says, go unpunished all the time.
Not that he's cool with that. He prays for the sinners' destruction, and then
tells Zophar to stop being so depressing.
The Economy of God is comprised of
three Churches[2]
·the
Church Militant (Latin: Ecclesia militans), which consists of Christians
on earth who struggle as soldiers of
Christ against sin, the devil, and "the rulers of the world
of this darkness, against the spirits of wickedness in the high places";
·the
Church Penitent (Latin: Ecclesia poenitens), also called the Church Suffering
(Latin: Ecclesia dolens) or the Church Expectant (Latin: Ecclesia expectans),
which in the theology of certain churches, especially that of the
Catholic Church, consists of those Christians currently in Purgatory;
and
·the
Church Triumphant (Latin: Ecclesia triumphans), which consists of those who
have the beatific vision and are in Heaven.
These divisions
are known as the "three states of the Church," especially within Catholic ecclesiology. However, the actual
language used in the Catechism of the Catholic Church states that “The three
states of the Church… at the present time some of his disciples are pilgrims on
earth. Others have died and are being purified, while still others are in glory,
contemplating ‘in full light, God himself triune and one, exactly as he is.'”
In systems of
theology which reject the doctrine of Purgatory, such as Lutheranism,
and most other Protestant denominations, the Churches Militant and Triumphant
are together known as the two states of the Church. These divisions are often
discussed in the context of the doctrine of the communion of saints; although Christians may be
physically separated from each other by the barrier of death, they nonetheless
remain united to each other in one Church, and support each other in prayer.
Saint Michael the Archangel was
the protector of Israel and is also traditionally known as “The Medicine of
God.” Saint Michael as the military captain of the church of God has a great
interest in the happenings of his people, their calamities and he does not
overlook their calls for his aid. Let us therefore have recourse to him in
times of sickness. He will most certainly come to our assistance bringing the
healing graces of the Redeeming Blood. Yet, if it is the will of the father
that we depart from this world Saint Michael does not abandon us for he is
especially our advocate at our hour of death and assists at every deathbed for
it is part of his office to receive the souls of the elect on their quitting
the flesh. When the last hour of our earthly career draws near, we are
confronted by that awful moment when our soul must leave the body which it has
loved so much, to pass through the narrow portal of death, satanic hosts like
raving lions will make a last attack upon our souls. But we need not fear (but
be at peace) if during life we have had devotion to the Precious Blood and have
been faithful in venerating St. Michael and imploring his aid. He will cover us
with his strong shield and lead us safely through the midst of our enemies.

Auxilium Christianorum - Praying for Persecuted Priests Monday, May 24 is the Feast of Mary Mother of the Church. It is also the Feast of Mary Help of Christians (Auxilium Christianorum). Please consider joining this Auxilium Christianorum family to pray daily for our holy and courageous persecuted priests. The Church teaches us that it is divided into the Church Triumphant (which includes the members of the Church in heaven), the Church Suffering (this includes the members of the Church in purgatory), and the Church Militant (this refers to those members of the Church who are alive in this world). Because we are part of the Church Militant, we are in a spiritual warfare and this spiritual warfare requires that we recognize, as Saint Paul teaches us "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood; but against principalities and powers, against the rulers of the world of this darkness, against the spirits of wickedness in the high ...
Switch of Manliness Legacy OUR LADY OF CZESTOCHOWA Acts, Chapter 10, verse 1-4 1 Now in Caesarea there was a man named Cornelius, a centurion of the Cohort called the Italica, 2 devout and God-fearing along with his whole household, who used to give alms generously to the Jewish people and pray to God constantly. 3 One afternoon about three o’clock, he saw plainly in a vision an angel of God come into him and say to him, “Cornelius.” 4 He looked intently at him and seized with FEAR , said, “What is it, sir?” He said to him, “Your prayers and almsgiving have ascended as a memorial offering before God. Cornelius’ Cohort was an auxiliary unit of archers, men who are expert at hitting a mark or target. Sin is the act of violating God's will. Sin can also be viewed as anything that violates the ideal relationship between an individual and God, or as any diversion from the ideal order for human living. To sin has been defined as "to miss the mark" to have a h...
Monday Night at the Movies Luis Bunuel, Simon of the Desert, 1965 SAINT MOTHER THEODORE GUERIN Hebrews, Chapter 12, Verse 21 Indeed, so FEARFUL was the spectacle that Moses said, “I am terrified and trembling.” Moses was the heir apparent to the throne of Egypt in his youth. As a member of the Egyptian court, he would have seen many fearful spectacles yet imagine what it must have been like to have been a witness of God descending on Mount Sinai to give the law. He was terrified and trembling. Again, now imagine if Moses was somehow resurrected and was able to walk into an ordinary catholic church that has a very modest Blessed Sacrament Chapel. Do you think his reaction would be any different than the first time he encountered the living God? Be Still and Know that I am God [1] On the evening of October 1995, John Paul II was scheduled to greet the seminarians at Saint Mary’s Seminary in Baltimore. It had been a very full day that began with a Mass at...

February 15 Saturday Singles Awareness Day Genesis, Chapter 3, verse 8-10: 8 When they heard the sound of the LORD God walking about in the garden at the breezy time of the day, the man and his wife hid themselves from the LORD God among the trees of the garden. 9 The LORD God then called to the man and asked him: Where are you? 10 He answered, “I heard you in the garden; but I was AFRAID , because I was naked, so I hid.” Before the fall both Adam and Eve were unafraid of being exposed to God and they were innocent in that they knew not that they were naked. Adam states I heard the sound of you in the garden. We do not know what the sound of God is from the verse. Was it the same sound as a man walking in the garden? Or was it the sound of a rushing wind? We do not know; but Adam...
February 7 First Friday MARRIAGE WEEK-Ballet Hebrews, Chapter 13, Verse 1-8 1 Let mutual love continue. 2 Do not neglect hospitality, for through it some have unknowingly entertained angels. 3 Be mindful of prisoners as if sharing their imprisonment, and of the ill-treated as of yourselves, for you also are in the body. 4 Let marriage be honored among all and the marriage bed be kept undefiled, for God will judge the immoral and adulterers. 5 Let your life be free from love of money but be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never forsake you or abandon you.” 6 Thus we may say with confidence: “The Lord is my helper, [and] I will not be AFRAID. What can anyone do to me?” 7 Remember your leaders who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith . 8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. February 16 Sunday-Septuagesima Jeremiah, Chapter 17, Verse 7-8 7 Blessed are those who trust in the LORD; the LORD will be their trust. 8 They are like a tree planted beside the waters that stretches out its roots to the stream: It does not FEAR heat when it comes, its leaves stay green; In the year of drought, it shows no distress but still produces fruit. I live in Arizona where hardly anything grows in the desert. However, along a stream or a creek, trees do put their roots into the bed of the water and create a mini paradise with flowers, deer and even provide sustenance even during the hottest days. Likewise, we should sink our roots into our Lord through our church and receive refreshment through frequent reception of the sacraments of Confession and the Eucharist, along with spiritual reading and time alone with our Lord. In this way we are nourished and prepared for the work our Lord has given us. “Blessed are the poor in spirit; for th...

February 12 Wednesday Tu Bishvat Lincoln-Darwin Ezekiel, Chapter 12, Verse 18-19 18 Son of man, eat your bread trembling and drink your water shaking with FEAR . 19 And say to the people of the land: Thus says the Lord GOD about the inhabitants of Jerusalem in the land of Israel: they shall eat their bread in fear and drink their water in horror, because the land will be emptied of what fills it—the lawlessness of all its inhabitants. We become lawless when we lack leaders that had a leader’s heart. God measures the greatness of a leader’s heart not his intelligence or his wealth. Ezekiel message is that God punishes evil leaders and those who follow them. No nation rises above its leadership. God desires that leaders first develop the following characteristics of the heart: 1) Healthy personal security 2) Strong biblical identity 3) Growing intimacy with Him 4) Consistent personal disciplines 5) Pure motives and ambition...
