FITNESS FRIDAY — FORGE OF AGES (CATHOLIC)
Week 12 — The Knight: The Protective Body
November 6, 2026
Forge of Ages is a year-long journey through history's great physical archetypes. Each week focuses on one practical body principle, one nutrition lesson, and one spiritual virtue. The goal is not just fitness. The goal is readiness: becoming stronger, more capable, and more useful in service to faith, family, work, and community.
The Protective Body
The Viking taught us to move boldly. The Knight teaches us to carry responsibility.
Knights spent much of their lives under load. Armor, weapons, supplies, long marches, and daily duties demanded more than raw strength. Success belonged to the man who could remain capable when tired, burdened, and uncomfortable.
That lesson remains relevant today.
Real-world fitness isn't about impressing people at the gym. It's about carrying groceries without strain, climbing stairs confidently, hiking a trail, working in the yard, helping a friend move furniture, and finishing the day with energy still in reserve.
This week is about building useful strength.
